This type of wine has some flowery, fruity notes to it. Suppose you don’t have burgundy wine, no worries. Swap it out for some beef stock.
What Is Beef Bourguignon?
It is a beef stew, a french one that focuses on the flavors that mix so well, stewing beef, onions, carrots, mushrooms, thyme and parsley, red wine, and bacon. It is rich and comforting food.
What You’ll need:
- Beef stew meat
- All-purpose flour
- salt
- Canola oil
- Beef bouillon granules
- Dried parsley flakes
- Italian seasoning
- Water
- Burgundy wine or beef stock
- Potatoes, Mushrooms, Onion, Carrots, Celery ribs
How to Make Beef Bourguignon
Set your oven to 350 degrees. Toss your beef with flour and salt mixture. Lightly coat the beef and make sure to shake off any excess.
Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat. Cook your beef in batches until golden brown. Add oil as needed. Once browned, remove from the pan.
In a separate bowl, combine 2 cups of water, parsley, wine, bouillon, and seasoning. Add to the pan and bring to a boil. Add beef and return to a boil.
Cover the beef and bake in the oven for 1 hour, Add in vegetables. Cover and bake for approximately 45-60 minutes until the beef and vegetables are tender.
How To Store and Reheat Leftovers?
It should be covered tightly or put in airtight containers. It can be refrigerated for up to 4 days. To reheat it, you should take only the desired portion of the stew in a covered saucepan using medium heat.
